Description

A batic panel, paste-resist on wool and rayon, with bands of stylised birds and plants, lined, signed MICHAEL O’CONNELL.

Note: Michael O’Connell, was a British textile artist who worked in Australia in the 1920’s and 30’s and in Britain from the 1940’s until his death in 1976. O’Connell’s fabric designs were printed by the Edinburgh Weavers and London department stores, Heal & Sons and Harrods.
